A Real Look at the Roles of the Brain and Our Emotional Environment Play in Our Lives Regarding Choices to Use Drugs and Alcohol
What are the real physical effects of drugs on the brain? How are those effects different from those caused by natural events on the brain? What are we seeking when we choose to use and why might we be seeking that? In this program Charis talks about how the roles of power, choice, and regret influence decision-making. “The Set Up” component discusses how teens frequently feel using is the only way to maneuver in the world they are navigating. This perspective often stems from academic pressure, prescribed gender roles, and a lack of “emotional literacy.”
